New Lingobit Localizer 4.8 is released
Lingobit Localizer 4.8 Adds New Capabilities to Speed Software Localization, Reduce Costs and Increase IT Productivity
New York, NY. - November 10, 2006: Lingobit Technologies today announces Lingobit Localizer 4.8, a software localization tool that provides development teams with an effective solution to facilitate and streamline the software localization process and communication between programmers, translators and testers. Lingobit Localizer 4.8 delivers a host of new features and enhancements to reduce application localization costs, maximize IT productivity and ensure faster software localization.
What's New in Lingobit Localizer 4.8?
Taking advantage of the expertise that has established Lingobit's award-winning Lingobit Localizer as a widely adopted standard in software localization, Lingobit Localizer 4.8 extends its functionality with complementary workflow management capabilities that provide the following key benefits:
- Increased developer satisfaction through full support of .NET Framework version 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. In the light of increasing popularity of version 2.0 among developers, this support is especially important because it allows for easy transition to version 2.0 from any previous version of .NET Framework.
- More correct and reliable localization through enforcing automatic validation and fixing of common localization errors. Now Lingobit Localizer can check the spelling and recognize common translation errors.
- Reduced localization time and costs for updated software. One of the main specialties in Lingobit Localizer is its Scan for Changes technology, which is useful when you intend to release an updated version of the product. Scan for Changes scans the update and detects new and modified elements, for which you're prompted to provide translations. For unchanged elements, Lingobit loads the translations from the previous version. In 4.8 the Scan for Changes feature has been improved. Among other operations, it can add removed translations to Translation Memory for future reuse.
- Additional flexibility for translators in the localization process thanks to the option to import and export a project to text format. This means strings can be edited using any external text editor. This ability is of great use for translators, who can localize the software using their favorite word-processing editor, such as Microsoft Word.
Other enhancements in the release include automatic translation of duplicated elements and new language simulations in Pseudo-Translate. Now Lingobit Localizer has a strong Delphi support, improved grid usability and usability in Translator edition, as well as enhanced Text/CSV engine.
What's Lingobit Localizer?
Lingobit Localizer 4.8 simplifies communication and workflow throughout the entire localization process by offering users a unified interface and productivity tools, such as Automated QA, Validation Expert, Translation Memory, etc. Localization can be done in-house or delegated to another company. In the latter case, translation tasks are distributed via self-extracting localization kits with a project file (no source-code) and a 'lite' edition of Localizer for translators. Lingobit's project monitoring tools give a localization manager the ability to see what is going on at each stage of the localization process, which ensures accountability, gives clarity and control to efficiently manage localization across several steps.
