Translation Editor
The Translation Editor displays resource elements that can be translated.
The Translation Editor pane consists of five columns.
ID
This column displays the element ID. ID may consist of numbers, or a
word phrase which describes the element technical content, for example:
Product Version, Product Name, Company name.
Status
This column displays the element status. By default, all elements in
the Translation Editor are assigned Not Translated status. See Using Translation
Status for detailed overview.
Original language
This column contains original versions of text elements and original
data size for non-text elements. The column header displays the name of
the original language.
Target language
This column contains the selected language translations. The selected
language name is displayed in the column header. The user can view translations
of a single selected language only. To select the language, choose it
in the drop-down list in the Standard
toolbar, or use Target Language
dialog box (see Target language
for details).
Comments
This column contains user comments to elements. The user can add comments
right from the Translation Editor.
The comments refer to the selected element and are displayed regardless
of the selected target language; the comments are not included in the
localized file versions.
Using the Translation Editor,
you can rapidly add, modify, or review the elements translations and compare
them to the original content. You can also apply commands from the context
menu to the selected element. To translate the non-text element, double
click it or choose Load Translated Data…
in the context menu and then select the appropriate binary file on the
disk.
You can also edit translations for the selected element in the Text Editor pane. See Text
Editor for details.
You can change the Translation Editor
font type, size and color. This is used in some types of projects, to
display the text elements correctly or just make the font size larger.
To do that, choose Options… in
the Tools menu and then click
Change Translation Editor Font…
Changes will be applied to the project after Lingobit Localizer restart.
