Using Translation Status

Each resource element in the Lingobit Localizer project is assigned a translation status. Translation status allows the user to navigate more easily through the localizable data.

The user can set translation status for a resource element manually. Besides, some of the localization features applied to a resource can automatically change its status.

Not Translated

By default, all resource elements within the project are assigned Not Translated status. When an element translation is deleted, its status is automatically changed to Not Translated. Not translated elements cannot be manually assigned a different status value, with the exception of Locked status.

The following status values representing the current stage of the localization process can be set manually by the user.

Complete

Use this status value for translated elements, which have been properly localized.

For review

If an element is given a translation, which should be reviewed at the later stages of the project translation, it should be assigned For Review status.

In process

Use In Process status for elements with a preliminary translation, which is to be edited. In Process status is automatically assigned to Not Translated elements when they are translated by the user. Elements modified using Pseudo Translation Expert, are also assigned this status value.

Locked

To secure translation elements that are not to be modified, apply Locked status. The user must unlock an element before altering its translation.

The following status values are applied to resource elements automatically.

Auto

If a resource element is automatically translated using Translate Duplicates or Translate Using Translation Memory function, it is assigned Auto status.

Updated

If a resource element is changed when using Scan for changes function, it is assigned Updated status.

New

Resources elements added to the project when using Scan for changes function, are automatically assigned New status.

Imported

If a resource element is changed when using Import Translation function, it is assigned Imported status.

To change the translation status, right-click the item and choose Status >> …, or click the appropriate button in the main toolbar.
