What is better: Lingobit Localizer or Multilizer?

Two of the most widely used localization solutions in the world are Lingobit Localizer and Multilizer. While many people use Multilizer and are pretty happy with it, most people use Lingobit Localizer for several reasons. One of them is a much better interface and easy of use of Lingobit Localizer, other reasons are more supported platforms and overall reliability.

Lingobit Localizer has the best interface of all localization applications. It is based on modern Office 2003 interface, and has nice and smooth icons. On the other hand, Multilizer is probably written in Delphi with its bulky, non-standard widgets. While with time you begin to understand philosophy behind Multilizer, first-time user, in our experience, feel anxious and dont understand where to find most common commands like adding one more file to the project. At the same time, Lingobit Localizer is designed with user in mind, so one can begin work with it almost immediately. Easy of use of Lingobit Localizer is almost legendary in our industry.

While Multilizer support more platforms, its support for many of them is very shallow. For example, Lingobit Localizer natively support edition .NET forms, while Multilizer support it throughout emulation of it using Delphi techniques. This emulation is not perfect in any sense, due to difference in controls, many forms are shown incorrectly and you can not translate such elements as ListCtrl, ListBox and some others. On the contrary, .NET localization module in Lingobit Localizer was written using C#.NET so form editor in it is very similar to that of Visual Studio and you would not encounter any problems translating .Net forms. This situation is repeated for other platforms.

Multilizer is very unstable. Sometimes it just unexpectedly crashes during translation process. And the worst, you can not anticipate this it just crashes in random place. Of cause, all you work is lost - no automatic saving and all that. During some operations, it just shows Out of bound error message without any further explanation. In contrast, Lingobit Localizer is very robust; we never experienced a single crash or incorrect behavior during our work with it.

In conclusion, I want to say that Lingobit Localizer is a clear winner, and the most popular localization platform due to its quality. I would definitely recommend it for localization!
